This is the official app of the NBLA, endorsed by "The Lockman Foundation" and "HarperCollins Christian Publishing Inc."
The New American Bible is a faithful translation of the Holy Scriptures as they were originally written in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek. It has been produced with the purpose of offering the Spanish-speaking world the richness and power of the Word of God in such a way that it is a true devotional treasure and a practical instrument of study.
This new version is the product of the intense work and dedication of a considerable number of scholars from different Christian denominations, representatives of several Latin American countries and the United States. It is published with the firm conviction that the Holy Scriptures, as written in the original languages, were inspired by God, and because they are His eternal Word, they speak with renewed power to each generation to impart the wisdom that leads to salvation in Christ, equipping the believer to enjoy an abundant and happy life on earth, and making him a living testimony of the truth for the eternal glory of God.
The Editorial Committee has observed four basic principles. He has tried to stick as closely as possible to the original languages of the Holy Scriptures and has observed the rules of grammar using an agile and entertaining style, trying to maintain its literary beauty. The New American Bible is offered with the assurance that those who seek the message and knowledge of the Holy Scriptures will find here a clear and faithful translation of the truth revealed by God in His Word.
The Four Basic Rules of The Lockman Foundation Publications
1. They will be faithful to the original Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek languages.
2. They will be grammatically correct.
3. They will be written in a language understandable to everyone.
4. They will give the Lord Jesus Christ the place that belongs to him, the place that the Word of God gives him.
Translation principles
In the text of the New Bible of the Americas, efforts have been made to use the grammar and terminology of contemporary Spanish.
Passages that are written poetically in the original language texts have also been written poetically in this version.
