Tafl: viking chess GAME
- game board sizes: 7, 9, 11, 13
- Victory conditions: bring the king to the edge or to the corner of the board.
- the conditions of the king's entourage: from two or four sides.
- the number of attacking (black) and defending (white) pieces.
The game can be played with artificial intelligence, together with another person on the same device, or with a rival online in multiplayer mode.
Attacking black pieces go first. Next, the players take turns. All the pieces move vertically or horizontally to any number of free squares, like a rook in chess. Which my figures cannot jump over each other, stand up, or pass through the central and corner "fortresses" of the tokens can only be occupied by a king figure.
Taking pieces is done by pincerizing two enemy pieces on your turn. Diagonally, the pieces do not move or pinch. It is possible to capture an enemy piece between his own piece and an empty "throne". The Throne is always hostile to attackers, but only to defenders when it is empty. Capture is not required. Felled pieces leave the board forever.
To win the white pieces, the king from the center of the "Throne" must reach:
- in a game with the symbol of the "fortress" in the corners, one of these corners.
- in a game with a highlighted edge of the board, just this edge.
To win, the black pieces must capture the king by surrounding him.
