Yukon 1000 Race Tracker
The Yukon 1000 is an annual marathon paddling race held in Canada in mid-July every year, from Whitehorse to Dalton Highway Bridge . It is nearly 1000 miles (715 km) long and takes six to ten days for the competitors to complete the course. Paddlers come from around the world to test their endurance, racing up to 18 hours each day. It is open to tandem canoes and kayaks. No SUPs have entered this year. This app allows you to view the course and track the progress of the competitors using feeds from the satellite tracking systems carried by each of them. Prior to the start of the race, the app will only show test locations near Whitehorse but after the race has started on July 10th you will see the latest reported position of each competitor. Please note that some of the satellite tracking systems only report new fixes every 30 minutes, so please do not expect to see the boat icons move in real time.
