Worker Insights, Smart Engagem · Description
Worker Insights, Smart Engagement (WISE) is a free tool for workers on farms and in factories. The app gives workers important information about their rights and job-related health and safety advice. The News section provides interesting articles to help workers stay informed.
The tool helps workers communicate with their employers. Surveys seek feedback on timely topics so workers can share their ideas. Using the WISE Connect section, workers can ask questions or raise a concern about the workplace. In more serious instances, workers can use the app to notify an employer of a complaint with working conditions or violations of their rights.
Companies must agree to participate for workers to receive the benefits of this app.
WISE is a product of the Fair Labor Association (a collaborative effort of socially responsible companies, colleges and universities, and civil society organizations) and Ulula. Since 1999, the FLA has improved the lives of millions of workers around the world by offering training and resources to workers and management, conducting independent assessments of companies’ social compliance programs, and advocating for greater accountability and transparency in global supply chains.
