WaitLess is a patient empowerment app designed to help patients make an informed decision about where to the seek urgent medical attention, avoiding busy A&E departments where possible.
The App helps patients identify the fastest route to receiving care for non-life-threatening emergencies, by presenting combined live waiting-times for Minor Injury Units (MIUs), Urgent Treatment Centres (UTCs), Walk-In Centres, (WICs) and Emergency Departments (EDs), and indicative travel time information for all urgent care facilities across a locality.
The App gives patients the option to call 999 or 111 or access the 111 web-app, before patients to proceed to WaitLess.
WaitLess clearly displays the number of patients waiting in a treatment centre, wait times for the longest waiting patient, as well as travel time information for multiple modes of transport with directions to each facility, and ranks each site in fastest order.
With just one click, the app will geo-locate the patient and redirect to the google map service on their device to present live directions and travel routes.
In addition to this, the app provides detailed site and service information for each treatment centre, including opening hours, treatments offered, parking facilities and disabled access details.
WaitLess also displays a directory of pharmacies within the locality, allowing patients to access details such as services provided on site, opening hours, address details and contact telephone numbers, along with directions via google maps.
WaitLess is designed to help patients get the treatment they need more quickly by presenting alternative care locations to help them avoid long queues and wait times. By using the WaitLess App, patients will help the NHS to reduce pressure in busy A&E departments and provide lifesaving emergency treatment to those who really need it.
The app displays waiting times for adults only. If you are seeking care for a child under 16, please dial 111.
For serious injuries and medical emergencies please call 999.
