We built this app because we found that News Services and other Apps for major cities have readings that are 1. often delayed by an hour or more (not real-time) and 2. the readings are measured on a horizontal surface so are not representative of surfaces tilted at the sun like the face and arms - these readings are often too low.

Our app is unique in that it provides
-up to the minute theoretical calculation based on your location. (The widget refreshes the data every 15min to save battery or instantly if clicked)
-a correction for surfaces tilted at the sun
-Daily and Monthly forecasts - a uvi of 3 or more requires protection
-Widget uses cached GPS location to not use battery
-a theoretical SPF & PPD calculator
-All features work entirely offline and assume a clear sky (the goal is reporting the highest theoretical current UV Index) but with toggles for cloud conditions
