Welcome to MyCatch by Angler’s Atlas - a fishing app to record your catches, participate in fishing events or just track your stats. You can explore thousands of fishing destinations through the app, and keep track of every fish caught. For the competitive anglers, our fishing events give you a chance to fish for prizes AND contribute to fisheries science.
MyCatch was first released in 2018 as a way for anglers to track their catches and at the same time help fisheries biologists by providing important catch data. Since the launch, MyCatch anglers have worked with dozens of university researchers across Canada and the United States, helping address important questions and gaps in fisheries science. To see some examples of these projects, please visit our website at www.anglersatlas.com/research.
From a conservation standpoint, MyCatch has developed efficient catch reporting tools so anglers can quickly record their catch and get the fish back into the water in less than a minute. This approach is referred to as Catch-Photo-Release and are hallmarks of the event series available on the app.
“Our promise to anglers is that Secret Spots Stay Secret,” says Sean Simmons, Founder and President of Angler’s Atlas and MyCatch. “Our research partners sign data sharing agreements that protect the privacy and location of our anglers, while providing fisheries biologists with the critical data they need to study our fisheries.”
For anglers, the app also provides useful statistics to keep track of catches, such as the number of fish caught, catch rate, species and specific details around each catch.
My Catch is produced by Angler’s Atlas, an online platform that has catalogued hundreds of thousands of waterbodies, and helps anglers explore lakes, rivers and oceans with detailed maps, tips and local fishing information.
