How Are You?
HAY stands for How Are You and that's exactly what it's all about: How are you. The app ensures that you feel safe at home. If something happens or if you need help or just want to contact someone, the right people can be called in by yourself or via the automatic alarm.
The app consists of 4 parts:
1. HAY friends
In the app you can add the people you fully trust. In the app we call this your 'HAY - friends'.
You will receive a daily notification on your phone to check in, indicating how you are doing. Your HAY friends will then see how you are doing and if they need to take any action.
You can also change your status after checking in if the situation changes that day.
In the settings of the automatic alarm you can indicate when you receive the notification to check in.
2. Automatic alarm
You set yourself how and when you want HAY - friends to be involved. This can be done by setting that you check in at a fixed time via the popup you receive. If you do not check in, you will first receive a notification on your own telephone with the request to check in. If you do not respond to this notification, a notification will be sent to your HAY - friends. You can set yourself how much time can pass before your HAY friends receive a message that you have not checked in.
It is also possible to use the app and disable the daily check-in. Think, for example, of a friend with psychological complaints. You can see how that person is doing every day, but you don't have to actively participate in the daily check-in. The great thing about this is that you can still see how someone is doing and take action if things are not going well.
3. Manual alarm
In the app there is also a possibility to manually alarm your contacts. For example, consider an acute situation. This button is visible on the Home screen and is called 'Alert your contacts'. If you press this button, a notification will be sent to your friends right away. After clicking the button, a screen will open with a countdown clock. After the (settable) seconds have elapsed, an alarm will be sent to your friends. There is also a possibility to cancel or immediately send the alarm within these seconds.
4. Chat function
When an alarm has been activated, it is possible to use the chat function within the app so that there is immediate contact with someone who has activated his alarm. All your HAY - friends can then use this chat to contact you and have contact with each other to discuss the situation. The chat history remains in the app so you can always read back what action has been taken and by who has taken action. Only the person who sounds the alarm can end the chat function.
