The Book of Enoch, interesting and obscure book to expand knowledge
The Book of Enoch is an ancient Jewish religious work, attributed by tradition to Enoch, the great-grandfather of Noah, though modern scholars believe the oldest (mainly in the Book of the Watchers) sections to date of 300 BC, and last part (Book of Parables) probably late first century BC.
"The Scriptures will be given, they will believe and rejoice in them, all the righteous be glad to learn from all walks of justice." (1 Enoch 104: 13)
The first sections of the book were made in the third century BC. The authors relied in part on the Pentateuch and had expanded sections of Genesis, Numbers and Deuteronomy. For example, 1 Enoch 1: 9 (the quote in the letter of Jude 1: 14-15) is originally a Midrash Deuteronomy 33: 2.
The Book of Enoch (1 Enoch abbreviated) a intertestamental book, which is part of the canon of the Bible of the Coptic Church but not accepted as canonical by other Christian churches is. The only full versions of this book are preserved in Ge'ez, the liturgical language of the Ethiopian church, but several parts are known in Greek, Syriac, Armenian, Arabic and Latin and a fragment in Coptic. They have also been found several fragments in Aramaic and one in Hebrew (4Q317) Qumran. Tradition attributed its authorship to Enoch (also transliterated as English Enoch or Enoch), great-grandfather of Noah.
The book was published in the first century AD and consists of several parts written in the third century. C. and A.D. I
The Book of Enoch consists of:
- Book of Judgment
- Book Rangers or Angels Fall
- Book of Parables or Messiah and the kingdom
- Book of Change of heavenly luminaries or astronomical Book

The first Christians had great appreciation for the Book of Enoch, as attested by the canonical epistles of Jude (6 and 14-16) and 2 Peter (2: 4) and non-canonical writings of Barnabas and Justino Mártir ( 100-165), Atenágoras (170); Tatiano (110-172); Irineo, Bishop of Lyon (115-185); Clemente de Alejandría (150-220); Tertuliano (160-230); Lactantius (260-325) and also those of Methodius of Philippi, Minucius Felix, Commodian and Prisciliano (m. 385).
The Book of Enoch is an apocalyptic book belonging to Jewish apocalyptic
Undoubtedly, the Book of Enoch was widely known and appreciated in the Jewish world and later inherited by the early Christians, who were largely responsible for preserving it in other languages. The Book of Enoch is classified as pseudepigraphic because its content is attributed to the legendary descendant of Adam, although the content and issues are clearly tells of later origin.
