"AM 550" Radio Colonia is a Uruguayan radio station that broadcasts from Colonia del Sacramento, at 550 KHz of modulated amplitude. It was founded in 1933 under the name of Radio Popular, and took its current name in 1940.
Our coverage is so wide, that it covers the two countries of the River Plate, in Argentina: Buenos Aires, and the provinces of Buenos Aires, covering almost all the towns in the center and north of it, Entre Ríos, Santa Fe: La Pampa: Corrientes: and Córdoba.
In Uruguay, its scope is not limited only to the Department of Colonia, but it has a high degree of penetration in Montevideo and its surroundings.
Currently, the radio allocates a large part of its programming to independent productions of all kinds, from journalistic and sports programs, news, current affairs and general entertainment. "
