Speed Reporting Radar Gun · Description
This is a real radar gun, not a camera based solution. Turn your Android phone or tablet into a speed radar gun by connecting it to an OmniPreSense radar sensor. Capture the speed of cars, people, or most anything that is moving in the radars field of view. Detect cars as far as 100m (328 ft) away or people up to 20m (66 ft). The app presents the speed detected in whichever format the sensor has been set to report (mph, kmh, m/s). This is a real millimeter wave radar sensor operating at 24GHz, just like the ones the police use, and just as accurate.
OmniPreSense single board radar sensors are the size of your hand and connect easily to any USB-OTG phone or tablet. Simply connect the sensor, start the app, and start detecting the speed of the objects around you. Depending on the sensor, they have a field of view between 20 to 78 degrees wide. There are three sensors available, the OPS241-A, OPS242-A, and OPS243-A. These are available from the OmniPreSense website or our distributors RobotShop and Mouser. An optional enclosure is available to protect the sensor.
New in v1.2 is an overlay of the date, time, speed, and location information on the picture of the moving object taken. Other improvements include faster picture taking time and a new intro tutorial.
