Overland · Description
Overland tracks your location and sends your data to a server of your choosing. The app will save data while you're offline, and send it to the server later in batches.
Overland offers highly configurable location tracking settings to the Core Location API for optimal control. Choose between getting highly detailed track logs (and using tons of battery in the process), or tracking only significant movements allowing you to conserve battery life.
Track bike rides, runs, walks, car trips, train trips and more.
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
The app Overland collects location data to enable position tracking even when the app is closed or not in use.
Location data is collected on your device and is not sent to a server. However, you will be given the option to send location data to any server of your choice. The use of the Overland app itself is covered by the following privacy policy.
Warning: If you chose to send your data to an external server, the data use would be covered by that server’s respective policy.
The Open Humans platform provides a server to which you can safely & privately send your Overland tracks, you can find it along with all set-up instructions at overland.openhumans.org. Optionally, in addition to privately storing your data, Open Humans also allows you to privately explore that data or share it with researchers for citizen science projects.
