Up is a mobile application that will promote mental health and well-being among young people. Up contains information about mental health and how thoughts, feelings and behavior are connected, as well as exercises to strengthen well-being and coping. Up provides information about when it is important to speak out, how to speak out, and where to get help. The app also provides information about emotions one may experience such as loneliness, sadness and performance anxiety. Up gives advice on how to deal with difficult emotions. The app provides stress management exercises (breathing and relaxation exercises) and exercises to get better sleep. Several of the exercises are interactive. You can store personal information such as your own coping strategies, an encouraging photo diary, an emotion barometer and a mind clearing exercise. In the latter exercise, one can learn to notice negative thoughts about oneself and replace them with various alternative and more appropriate thoughts. In general, information in the app will be displayed in the form of text, audio and animated films.
