Rádio Por Um Mundo Melhor was founded by Bishop Dom Hermínio Malzone Hugo in 1960, 1st bishop of the Diocese of Governador Valadares, to be the official broadcaster of the Diocese, being its first partner Administrator, together with Monsignor Francisco Batista dos Santos and Father David de Alcantara Miranda.
On September 14, 1978, Fundação João XXIII gained a new radio station with the frequency 97.7 MHZ – Rádio Mundo Melhor FM, following the same purposes with different segments, aimed more at young people.
Rádio Por Um Mundo Melhor was and continues to be a radio broadcasting school in Governador Valadares. Most of the professionals who now direct and work in the city's radio stations passed through it.
In this way, we conquered and retained an audience composed of young people and adults, male and female, opinion makers, of all ages, social classes and varied activities. It reaches East Mineiro and the Aço, Mucuri and Jequitinhonha Valleys and also part of the north of Espírito Santo.
Thus, Rádio Por Um Mundo Melhor fulfills its mission of contributing so that everyone can really have an even better world.
