Nutriscan + allows you to view the nutritional quality of a prepackaged food by simply scanning its barcode. This application aims to help you eat healthier.
Developed by the Swiss information and consumer protection magazine "Good to Know", Nutriscan + displays the Nutri-score of the products, the number of additives they contain, the labels they benefit from (organic, vegan, gluten-free , ..) and the level of processing of the materials from which they are made (NOVA classification).
A single InApp purchase, valid for the life of the application, allows you to unlock the details concerning each additive: known health risks, contraindications in the event of diets or allergies, most common uses and authorizations to marketing in Switzerland and the EU. The information is updated by the editorial staff of "Bon à Savoir".
Nutritional guidelines illustrate on a color scale the levels of fat, saturated fatty acids, sugars and salt (low, medium or high).
Nutriscan + also makes it easy to compare the nutritional values of two products.
Nutriscan + is available in French and German.
What is Nutri-score?
Developed by French epidemiologist Serge Hercberg, the Nutri-score is a food labeling system. It allows consumers to be informed of the nutritional balance of a processed food product, using a colored rating scale ranging from A (green = balanced) to E (red = not balanced). Its purpose is in particular
to facilitate the comparison between several similar foods and to make the healthiest choice. The Nutri-score calculation is the result of an algorithm that takes into account "positive" (fiber, protein, fruit and vegetable content) and "negative" (salt, sugar, saturated fatty acids, energy) aspects.
