Mu Torere · Description
Mu Torere is an abstract strategy 2 player board game played by Maori people in New Zealand. The game is played on 8 pointed star like board with spaces on each corner point and one space at the center point. A simple looking game which is not so easy to win.
Each player starts with 4 pieces on 4 adjacent positions at the corner points of the star and center point being empty.
Players alternate turn to move one piece to either the center point or from one corner point to adjacent corner point. A piece can only be moved to the center point if one or both adjacent points to player's piece is occupied by opponent's piece.
The aim is to block opponent pieces so that it can not move any further.
