The Qur'an or the Holy Qur'an, according to Muslims, is a holy book whose verses were revealed to the Islamic prophet Muhammad by Allah through the angel named Gabriel. In the Islamic faith, the Qur'an proves that Muhammad was a true prophet.

Besides the Qur'an, Muslims define the Bible, Torah and Psalms as holy books sent to people by Allah. However, they believe that the other three books were changed later, and that the last holy book, the Qur'an, will be preserved by Allah until the Day of Judgment. The Qur'an is accepted as the complement of the divine texts sent from Adam, who is believed to be the first human being and also the first prophet in Islam.
