JS8Call remote control, with automatic Maidenhead grid locator calculator. Receiving and sending to JS8Call. Play with JS8 everywhere. Enjoy ham amateur radio.
Before using this app you need to setup JS8Call in Settings -> Reporting:
- UDP server to IP address of your phone/tablet or broadcast IP address of your subnet. If you would like to use multicast, please set UDP server IP in JS8call to 224.0.0.1. Multicast IP is hardcoded at this moment.
- UDP server port to 2242 and power on the js8remote app on a mobile/tablet
If you are using multicast, please tap on the circle icon in top right corner to switch to multicast.
After first PING from JS8call, js8remote will fetch your callsign, operating frequency and messages. You can type in a new message and send it. While PTT is on, you will get information about it and messages will update.
Tapping on location icon gets a current location from a device and populates text box area. You can remove some of the chars from the grid locator if you want to send less precise location. Please delete characters in pairs.
