JQY (Jewish Queer Youth) supports and empowers LGBTQ youth in the Jewish community. JQY fights to ensure the emotional and physical health and safety of these individuals, with a special focus on teens and young adults from Orthodox, Chasidic, and Sephardi/Mizrahi communities. Our goal is for all these individuals to know: You are a valued member of the Jewish community and you are not alone.
This app also provides spaces for parents and siblings of JQYers as well as a forum for mental health professionals to connect.
NAVIGATING APP ANONYMITY
**Who can see my profile?**
By merely joining the app, only JQY staff will be able to see your profile. Once you join any of our private community groups, you will be searchable by the other members of that specific group.
If you are concerned about others seeing your real name, please use a different chosen name for your USERNAME (“Your Name” when signing up). If you can, please use your real name under “Name” as that information will be private and will only be seen by JQY staff.
**Who can see my information? (i.e. name, email, dob, zipcode, etc)**
Only you and JQY staff can see this information. As this is the case, if you can and are comfortable doing so, please fill out this information with your real email address, dob, etc. so we at JQY can know how to reach you and support you best.
Once you join a private community group, anyone can see your username by clicking on your profile.
