Community Health Volunteer Application- Zanzibar
This mobile application will support community health volunteers (CHVs) in Zanzibar's national community health program in providing key child health services in the home, coordinate additional care, follow-up with health facilities, and collect and report data in real-time. This digital decision support tool will guide CHVs through the content of a visit, ensuring that all essential questions are asked and counseling provided, tailored to the needs of that child. Based on CHV entries during the visit, the application will instruct the CHV regarding any follow-up actions required as well as schedule a return date. During the subsequent visit, the app will guide an appropriate follow up and will prompt the CHV through relevant content based on the child’s age. By using this kind of digital support, CHVs will be empowered to screen for child development risk factors, deliver appropriate and effective parental counseling, promote healthy behaviors, and correctly identify danger signs and triage children.
