The jurist, even if he excels above his peers in the knowledge of fatwas and rulings, the theologian, even if he excels the people of the world in the art of speech, the memorizer of stories and news, even if he is from the village, has better memory, the preacher, even if he is from Al-Hasan Al-Basri, he is more advisable, the grammarian, even if he is more eloquent than Sibawayh, and the linguist, even if he masters languages ​​with the power of his life, is not... None of them confronts the behavior of these methods, and no one delves into any of these facts except a man who has excelled in two sciences specialized in the Qur’an, which are the science of meanings and the science of rhetoric. He was slow in exploring them for a while, and labored in debating them for ages. He was keen to clarify the miracle of the Messenger of God after having learned from all other sciences in a good way...

These matters came together in Al-Zamakhshari, as he is a brilliant linguist who collected many sciences, and his interpretation was extremely clear from the linguistic standpoint. However, from the doctrinal theological standpoint, he adopted the opinion of the Mu’tazilites rather than the doctrine of the Sunnis regarding the verses of doctrine and monotheism. Al-Zamakhshari was a Mu’tazili in doctrine and a Shafi’i in jurisprudence.
