HearDL is an on-device artificial-intelligence(AI)-based hearing aids app that operates on smartphones. HearDL’s AI program is divided into AI1 and AI2: AI1 primarily performs noise cancellation and echo reduction and is differentiated into models for TV, lectures, conversations, and cafes. AI2 amplifies the received audio signal tailored to the user's hearing level, adjusting the amplification by frequency depending on the degree of hearing and the intensity of the received voice.

HearDL’s personalized features include measuring your hearing level directly through the app or selecting from standard hearing levels, as well as adjusting the maximum output intensity by frequency. When using general Bluetooth wireless earphones, the delay from the time the voice signal is input to the microphone to the time it is output to the earphones is relatively long (about 0.3 seconds), while wired earphones and gaming Bluetooth wireless earphones have relatively shorter delays (about 0.05 seconds and 0.1 seconds, respectively).
