This app is for testing Carnegie Mellon WEA+. Wireless Emergency Alerts, or WEA, is a nationwide service that lets authorized emergency personnel deliver short alert messages to capable smartphones in a specified geographical area using cell broadcast technology. Our research project aims to prototype and field-test several potential enhancements to the WEA service.
