Q & A:
*******
Is TSP Tracker secure?
Absolutely. TSP Tracker does not login to TSP web site and does not require TSP user credentials to use.
How does TSP Tracker track my balance without my TSP user credentials?
Enter your fund holdings and future contribution amount/allocation and TSP Tracker can estimate your account balance by calculating future share purchases using published TSP price data, without the need to login to your TSP account.
How often do I need to enter fund holdings?
A few times a year should be enough for the app to closely track your TSP balance, usually after making inter-fund transfer or changing future investment amount and/or allocation.
Do I need this app?
If you invest in Lifecycle funds, you probably don't need this app (or any app for that matter) since asset reallocation is done automatically by the Lifecycle funds. This app is mainly for people who invest in TSP Individual funds to track their account allocation and to determine when to reallocate.
Is it still supported now that TSP has a mobile app?
This app is originally designed to supplement the TSP website. Use the app to monitor account balance/allocation and login TSP to make investment changes. It will be supported for the foreseeable future.
How often is it updated?
The app does not have all the bells and whistles to keep it simple and low-maintenance, i.e, fund information/research should be done using the TSP website. The app is only updated if changes from TSP website cause it to fail to retrieve data from the TSP website. So it might appear that the app has not been updated for a year or two but the app is actively maintained.
However, there may be more frequent updates since TSP website is currently being revamped.
