Daily Crosswords · Description
Boatload Puzzles Daily Crosswords enables you to play one of Boatload Puzzles’ Small (13x13) crossword puzzles each day. Boatload Puzzles’ crossword collection includes 40,000 Small puzzles, so you can play a daily crossword every day for a lifetime without ever seeing the same puzzle twice!
The crosswords can be played for free. There’s no upsell to try to get you to buy puzzle packs.
Boatload Puzzles’ crosswords are all easy, and don’t contain any obscure words that are rarely found outside of crossword puzzles.
The app uses the internet briefly once a day to automatically download the current day’s puzzle, but you don’t need to be online in order to play a downloaded puzzle.
This app is easy to learn how to use. It only takes a single tap to use any feature of the app. Buttons with words on them are given preference over wordless icons whose meaning might be unclear. And features that crossword solvers usually don’t use when solving easy puzzles are avoided, to limit the number of features that need to be learned in order to use the app. But the basic features you’d expect in a crossword app are there: you can choose to show or hide incorrect letters, and you can get hints by showing a correct letter, word or entire puzzle.
The app chooses one of five different screen layouts, in order to make the best use of the screen regardless of screen orientation and size. On a small screen, only one across and one down clue are displayed at a time, and no (unneeded) grid numbers are displayed, in order to make the grid letters larger and easier to read.
