Card Sequence Board Game GAME
QUICK START GUIDE
To start a new game with default settings, choose your opponent by clicking on one of the four large buttons (Easy, Normal, Hard or Expert) . If you quit the app before the last game was complete, an option to continue the game is also available.
The default game settings are shown below the Game Start buttons. To change a setting click on the "cog wheel" icon.
When the game starts, you and the computer opponent are both dealt 7 cards from a double pack of 104 cards. (The computer hand is shown face down below your hand).
Each card in your hand (except the Jacks) has two matching squares on the board. You can only place counters on squares which match one of your cards.
You can see the matching squares by touching any card. Or you can touch the counter next to your hand to see all matching squares.
The object of the game is to form lines (“Sequences”) of five adjacent counters in any direction - horizontally, vertically or diagonally, while blocking any lines the computer is trying to make. A line of 4 counters adjacent to a corner square also makes a Sequence.
To win a game you have to form 1, 2 or 3 Sequences before the computer.
At each turn:-
• First select a card to highlight the matching squares (or click on by clicking on the counter to highlight all matching squares).
• Then click on one of the matching squares.
• The card you played is moved to the discard pile and you are dealt a replacement from the card pack.
There is a prompt at the bottom of the screen to reminder you what to do.
Detailed game play instructions are available during play by clicking the "How to Play" button
Jacks
The Jacks have no matching squares on the board as they have special properties:-
*"Two-eyed" Jack (Jack of Clubs or Diamonds, shaded blue) let you place a counter on any unoccupied square on the board.
*"One-eyed"Jacks (Jack of Hearts or Spades, shaded red) let you remove one of the computer’s counters, provided it does not already form part of a sequence, instead of playing your own counter.
GAME FEATURES
* Play anywhere - no Internet access required.
* Accurate representation of the real board game with high resolution images of the cards and board
* Challenging computer opponents - uses sophisticated algorithms to provide four levels of computer player skill. Ranging from Easy which is good for newcomers to the game, to Expert which will challenge the most experienced players.
* User interface optimised for ease of play on all sizes of screen. To save eyestrain, the board squares matching a selected card are automatically highlighted and one-eyed and two-eyed Jacks are colour-coded for ease of recognition
Please note: the AI does not cheat in any way. It doesn't know what cards you are holding and the cards are dealt completely randomly. However just like in the real game, sometimes one player will be dealt a better than average hand by chance, for example several Jacks. This luck will average out if you play many games. You can check the number of Jacks dealt to each player using the "Statistics" display option.
