The “UNAM Libraries” application offers a new way to disseminate and access bibliographic and full-text resources, in addition to offering online information library services offered by the UNAM Library System.
The characteristics of the users who will be able to use this application are mainly two: those who belong to the UNAM Community (academics and current students), and the general public. UNAM users can register in one or more libraries, depending on the origin of their registration or employment contract, in one of the offices of the National University. An effective and efficient short, medium and long term distinctive feature of this application is that, as more libraries become integrated into the project, library services will be available to all students, academics and researchers in their own library and in some more, within the same application.
Until September 2023, 33 libraries with 49 collections have been integrated. 2 General Directorates, 3 Faculties, 7 National Schools, 12 institutes and 9 centers.
The 16 services offered by this version of the application are the following:
• Search engine (Metasearch engine)
• Access to the UNAM Digital Library
• User Registration
• User authentication
• Password reset
• Auto loan
• Online renewal
• Current and historical loans and fines
• Availability of copies
• Share bibliographic record
• Share RIS format
• My favourites
• My library
• Geolocation
• Email notifications
• Notifications
• Aid
