The barangay is an essential part of being Filipino, and being Filipino means adapting to different challenges that come our way. One of those challenges is the experience that all Filipinos face every year: the typhoon. The Philippines experiences an average of 20 typhoons annually, with about 8–9 of them crossing the country. Many disasters ensue after the typhoon stops—floods, broken houses, landslides, and lost loved ones are often left in its wake.
