5000 years ago, the 3 tribes of Yakkha, Naga and Deva ruled Lanka peacefully and prosperously. The Yakkha tribe used their technology and their knowledge about nature for the development of the kingdom.

With the help of Indian armies, a Deva tribe aggressor called Kuvera conquered the rock fortress Sigirya which was the center of control of Yakkha tribe.

Yakkha king Sumali and his family escaped using an underground tunnel system. They hid in the jungle and started planning to get the throne back.

In these times of trouble the great rishi Pulasthi predicted about an emperor called "Ravana".
