Learn a little about our history:

The Assembly of God arrived in Brazil in 1910 with Swedish missionaries Gunnar Vingren and Daniel Berg, who came from the USA. Initially linked to the Baptist Church, they brought the doctrine of baptism in the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues. After doctrinal differences, in 1911 they founded the Apostolic Faith Mission, which later, in 1918, was renamed the Assembly of God.

In Artur Nogueira, the movement grew with emphasis on Pr. José Balarim and his son Pr. Alcides Balarim, who with dedication began the work in this city; initially, in a small temple for approximately 40 people. Under the leadership of the Cosmópolis Field, several pastors contributed to the growth of this work; as a result, the church grew stronger with fervent services, large congresses, social actions and expansion to other cities. A new time has come for the city of Artur Nogueira, granted by Bishop Samuel Ferreira. Thus, the Artur Nogueira congregation now becomes the headquarters of the Field, with its first Presiding Pastor, Claudio Henrique Coelho de Magalhães, marking a new phase of spiritual growth, consolidating the Madureira Assembly of God in Artur Nogueira as one of the main churches responsible for a strong movement of faith, transformation and salvation in the city.
