Your knowledge can make a difference!
SMS lifesaver is a system for alerting volunteers with knowledge of cardiopulmonary resuscitation to the scene of a suspected cardiac arrest. Help save lives by signing up as an SMS lifesaver.
By downloading the Sms lifeguard app on your phone and signing up as a volunteer lifeguard, you can be alerted to suspected cardiac arrests in your vicinity.
You must enable location services for the app, and remember to select "always", otherwise you won't be able to receive alarms! If you do not allow location services "always", the system will not alert you as your position will quickly become out of date. You don't have to have the app "open" but it can run in the background.
The SMS lifeguard app uses GPS positioning continuously during an alarm situation to be able to show it to the emergency center.
Alarms are sent from the emergency centers in Sweden when they have received a 112 call about a suspected cardiac arrest.
ATTENTION! You must be 18 years of age to register and it is your own responsibility to acquire the necessary knowledge in cardiopulmonary resuscitation NOTE!
The system is currently used in several regions in Sweden, and you can be alerted in all of these. More regions are in the works, so keep an eye on Sms-livraddare's Facebook or the website www.smslivraddare.se
You cannot receive alarms in regions that have not yet joined SMS lifeguards even if you download the app and register, but as a volunteer you can, however, receive alarms in ALL regions where the system is active!
Always think of your own safety first when receiving an alarm.
