رياض الصالحين

The book Riyadh al-Saliheen from the words of the Master of the Messengers. Its author is Abu Zakaria Yahya bin Sharaf bin Murri bin Hassan bin Hussein bin Muhammad Juma bin Hazzam al-Hazami al-Nawawi al-Shafi’i. He is a Muslim hadith scholar, jurist and linguist, and one of the most prominent Shafi’i jurists.

A brief book on encouragement, intimidation, and asceticism compiled by the author from authentic hadiths narrated on the authority of the Messenger Muhammad bin Abdullah, may God bless him and grant him peace, in matters of faith, worship, and life, and presenting them in sections and chapters that are easy for the reader to access and benefit from. The book contains 1903 hadiths narrated with a brief chain of transmission, divided into 372 chapters. The chapters and hadiths are numbered sequentially from the beginning of the book to the end.

Its author says in his introduction:
“I thought I would compile a summary of the authentic hadiths, including what will be a path for its companion to the afterlife, and a collection of his inner and apparent manners, bringing together encouragement, intimidation, and all other types of manners for those on the path: From the hadiths of asceticism, training for souls, refining morals, purifying hearts and treating them, maintaining the limbs and removing their crookedness, And other than that is one of the aims of the knowers. I commit to it only to mention only authentic hadiths from the clear ones, added to the authentic and well-known books, and to issue chapters from the Qur’an. I present to the Mighty One with noble verses, and I cover up what needs clarification or explanation of a hidden meaning with precious warnings. And if I said at the end of a hadith: Agreed upon, so its meaning is: Narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim.”
