The ČHMÚ weather application is the official application of the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ), which provides a wide range of users with general and detailed information about current and expected weather developments, watercourse conditions, air pollution levels and other data from the area of interest of the ČHMÚ.
The basic part of the application is the weather forecast for the location or area selected by the user, both in the form of graphic icons and text forecasts. There are detailed radar images in 5-minute increments and a rainfall forecast for the next tens of hours.
Alerts are also a key part of the app. The application displays currently valid and upcoming warnings for various dangerous phenomena. The user is also informed about these warnings via push notifications immediately after they are issued in the area of interest.
The application also includes other useful information - for example, UV index forecast, biometeorological forecast, rainfall estimate, risk of flash floods, information on tick activity, sounding data and more.
Users can set the default screen of the application according to their own preferences and interests so that it displays exactly what they need.
Outputs are available in the form of tables, graphics and maps.
In addition to default notifications for issued alerts, users can set their own, so-called
personalized notifications, where you can choose your own criteria according to which the application users are alerted, for example, to expected rain in a specific location at a selected time, a drop or rise in the level of a selected stream or, for example, exceeding a certain value of the concentration of dust particles.
