The "Biblical Work" application is a tool helpful in meditation on liturgical readings and popularizing biblical-theological research.
The application contains the Millennium Bible (fifth edition with footnotes) and an extensive commentary on all Sunday readings, including the responsorial psalm (pericope context, biblical commentary, parallel texts, Interpretation of the Church Fathers, Interpretation of the text in the teaching of the Church with reference to biblical studies). You can also find homiletic aids, i.e. existential examples - updating, photos, interesting facts, analysis of selected words, as well as an exemplary Bible Homily, Lectio divina to the Sunday Gospel and Inspirations, showing important topics in Sunday readings, which can be the starting point in creating homily. The application also includes a biblical commentary on the books of the Holy Scriptures, prepared systematically as part of the National Reading of the Holy Scriptures. It will be enlarged by books to be read in the coming years. The material can be an aid in individual and group meditation on the Word of God. The application also includes a Theological Dictionary with basic biblical concepts and a bibliomap presenting photos from biblical places with a short commentary. The whole is complemented by a weekly photo of the week with a short meditation.
The application was created on the initiative of the Section of Biblical Sciences of the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin and diocesan moderators of Dzieła Biblijnego im. John Paul II. The authors of the texts are Polish biblical scholars and selected alumni of theological seminaries.
